OpenOffice.org

Back to Computer Stuff

Wanted to get away from Microsoft Office etc... - just because it costs so much - and I hardly use it....

Craig Sanderson and Simon Walker both suggested OpenOffice..... which I think I'd tried superficially some years earlier and rejected because I felt it would always be following MS Office - so I would always be behind the latest developments.

Over the last few years - MS Office hasn't moved on all that much - so I re-tried OpenOffice thinking that if it could handle whatever I'd produced in MS Office - then - as its free - I would be onto a winner..... and I am!!

Its great!! I encourage everybody - to get off of MS Office - and onto OpenOffice - you deserve it!!

A few months ago I installed v1.1.5 - and just recently have upgraded to v2.0 - what is there to like.....??

bulletI haven't found anything that I'd want to do in MS Office - that OpenOffice cannot do - there was a limitation in v1.1.5 of only 32,000 rows in the spreadsheet - but in v2.0 that is removed - 64,000 rows now!
bulletI can import/open Access Databases, Excel Spreadsheets, Word Documents, Powerpoint Presentations in OpenOffice - and save them back in MS Office format OR OpenOffice format
bulletIts free (have I mentioned that before??)

You'll kick yourself if you don't switch - follow this link [OpenOffice.org] and become free of MS Office restrictions and costs!!
